Communication – the true cornerstone for all business success. With it, the sky is the limit. Without it, and disaster is already knocking on your door. But it isn’t always easy. With hybrid and remote working environments, employee scarcity and more, it can feel hard to communicate about the simple things. It doesn’t have to be this hard though. We’ve rounded up some trends and tips to help you communicate effectively so your business can thrive in 2022 and beyond:

Apps

Technology has made our business lives easier in a lot of ways. Including how and when we can communicate. Just look at the rise of different communication apps during Covid-19. As Mike Kappel illustrates “To strengthen communication in this remote era, communication tools and applications have become a must-have….and can help your team, remote or not.” From video to chat to content sharing, they have so many tools to help your team collaborate better and more effectively. It has been one of our best investments for our team!

Schedule

Having a set schedule for different communications helps your team. Whether it is a weekly/bi-weekly manager check-in, team calls, or client calls, knowing you have a set time to discuss questions and issues is huge. But, you need to listen to your team and see how frequently these are needed, and what type of communication works best. Maybe it doesn’t need to be an hour meeting, but a few shorter ones spread throughout the week. Find what works for your team and explore from there!

Boundaries

Like any aspect of business and life, communication needs boundaries to be successful. This can include boundaries around types, times and what can be shared. One of the most important ones that we’ve found is boundaries around working hours and availability. This is especially true for those working from home. Why? So that you and your employees have set working hours, and don’t burn out or have poor communication from trying to do work 24/7.

Communication is everything – in life and in business. The three tips and trends above are just a few of many that can help you achieve better. For your team and your clients. Our challenge to you: make communication your top priority in 2022. We promise that the results you see will speak for themselves.
